Gaz Davis vs Le Thanh Hai

In the Lien Phong Semi Finals Gaz Davis stepping into the ring with Jackie in his corner to stand head to head with Hai. Gaz had to drop 12kg in 3 weeks for this fight and had his opponent change the day before the fight, from a small stocky grappler to a Tall muscular Muay Thai artist. The first round started with a succession of low leg kicks thrown from Hai which were all checked or missed Gaz. Gaz then got his aggression going and started throwing so decent jabs. Hai continued with his barage of kicks and managed to dazed Gaz a couple of times with a powerful right hook. Not enough to knock Gaz off his feet, showing his iron jaw. In the break Gaz's coaches reminded him to keep his hands up and go for the take down. Hai looked tired and his legs needing to recover for the countless kicks checked. Round 2 started off with Gaz being much more aggressive, controlling the ring and pushing Hai on to the ropes. Gaz went for take downs but Hai stopped them by grabbing the rope. Noticed by the ref. Gaz stunned Hai a few times and with his back on the ropes goes for another tak down, again which Hai grabs the ropes, by Gaz continues and gets Hai to the ground, only for Hai to be on top. Within seconds hai is flipped on to his back with Gaz in mount laying down so serious ground and pound until he get back to his feet. The fight as it started with meaningless kicks from Hai and just clipping jabs from Gaz. Saigon Top Teams corner were ready for a 3rd round. As we believed it was clear Hai won first and Gaz dominated in the 2nd. However, the judges thought differently and the fighters were called to the middle of the ring. 3...2...1... Hai's hand is raised, to the shock of the crowd. Hai won by split decision. This was a valuable first fight for Gaz he has a lot to learn from in this fight. But has proven that he is the warrior Saigon Top Team knew he was. Everyone at Saigon Top Team look forward to watching him fight again!
